Distressed Vintage Flower Card

Owl Cupcake Toppers

Butterfly Wall Art

First of all I have to say Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Ok, now on to a craft project that I am really excited about it! I wanted to show two different views of this project:

Can you imagine this hanging above your little girl's bed? I love how simple this project is!

To begin with I cut out all of these butterflies using my Big Shot, the Beautiful Butterflies Die, and the Beautiful Wings embosslits die. I used Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade card stock and Everyday Enchantment designer series paper.

Next I would poke a small hole with a tiny safety pin in the butterfly. (I used the Vintage Trinkets from Stampin Up for this) The next step is to cut some fishing line to the desired length. The you take you butterfly and string the fishing line through the hole. Then you tie a knot to secure it. Then you continue on and add one butterfly at a time. (I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, but it was really hard to get the fishing line to show up).

The next step is to bend and cut a hanger to your desired shape. This gives you something to display your butterfly garlands with. I bent my hanger using some pliers. I also tied some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon to my hanger. Here is what the bent hanger looks like up close:

The other option is to hang each butterfly strand from a chandelier. Can you imagine this decoration for a baby shower, or a wedding shower? Kind of fun huh?! Here is what it looked liked hanging from my chandelier:

The Differences Between Clear And Wood Stamps

So, I never knew a lot about rubber stamping until recently. At first I was really confused about the differences between clear and wood mount stamps. Here are the pros to each. (At the end I'll tell you which I prefer)

The sale-a-bration catalog illustrates the differences between clear and wood mount stamps very clearly.

Clear Mount Stamps:

1. You can see through the block, so it is pretty easy to place the stamp exactly where you want it to go.

2. You need to purchase blocks that these stamps adhere to, but after this initial investment the clear mount stamps are cheaper.

3. The Storage! The clear mount stamps come in a clear DVD container that make it so easy to keep them organized and they will fit on a shelf quite nicely.

4. You can cut the rubber into pieces if you want... that sounds kind of funny, but sometimes there are stamps that have multiple images and it is easy to adjust this stamp into a few different stamps if you wish.

Wood Mount Stamps:
1. Rubber is adhered permanently to the wood block, so there is no wiggling.
2. You don't have to get out blocks and adhere them. You can just get stamping.
3. Easy to clean. You can just scrub them when you are done.
4. Some stamp sets are only available in wood.

Ok, so now the moment of truth... I have both kinds, but I really love clear. The easy storage has sold me! I don't have a lot of room, so that is a big deal to me... and I love that the clear are a little less expensive once I invested in the blocks. Although there are plenty of people that swear by the wood, so really it's up to you!

DIY Wedding Sign In Book

I did this project for my brother's wedding, and I really love how the pages turned out. There are so many pictures that I am going to split this into 2 posts. Their colors were obviously turquoise and brown. I tried to capture the details of the pages as best as I could, but they are still a part of a book.

I love how this project turned out! I used their engagement photos and added some cute embellishments from Stampin Up! I mostly used ribbon and card stock. This sign in book was a fun touch for my brother's wedding.

Vintage Kindness Matters Card

Here is a fun little thank you. Of course I had to go vintage with it. I love the effect that a little bit of ink and a sponge can achieve!

I love that the Elegant Eggplant card stock really adds a fun touch to this card. I have a confession. I love blue, a lot. Sale-a-bration Frame or Wreath Tutorial

Ok, I am super excited about this project! It is so versatile and you can do so many different things with it! The options are endless... and how can you go wrong with options? I know that this post title is a little confusing, so stay with me here... it will all make sense in a minute. Here is the fame part:

Ok, so this isn't the best picture, but I think that you get the basic idea here. I love the colors of the
Sale-a-bration Paper! Here is another view of the frame:

Ok, so here is how you make this darling frame:

You begin by using the Fancy Flower Punch from Stampin Up. You will need to punch out a lot of these flowers. The amount of flowers needed will change with the size of your frame.

Then you will take your good old pencil and twist your punched out flower around the eraser end of the pencil. (Just like you did when you were a kid making those awesome paper mache art projects in elementary school).

Then you just attach the paper with some hot glue. And you repeat this process about a million times. (Just kidding... it's not really a million times, but it feels like it! So, I would suggest doing this while watching a movie, or while talking with people).

So, here is what the picture frame looks like when it's finished. There is another option however...

This is a fun wreath that I made! All I did was add a piece of distressed Very Vanilla card stock and some ribbon that matched the paper and a little bling and voila instant wreath!

Here's a close up of the middle. It's not perfect, but I think that I like it that way. One more time this is what the finished project looks like if you want to make this wreath:

I know that I am always saying this, but pictures don't do this justice! Can you imagine this hanging on your door, or sitting on your shelf? Kind of fun huh!

Treat Box With a Flower

Vintage Inspired Birthday Card

I'll be honest this is one of my favorite cards that I have made in a long time. I think that it's because blue is my favorite color and this Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon is amazing!

I have never really highlighted one of my very favorite things that the Big Shot can do... this cute polka dot paper was created using an embossing folder! Isn't that awesome? It is one of the easiest ways to jazz up a project. To make it vintagey all you will need to do is dab a sponge with Stampin Up ink on the embossed card stock, and voila... instant vintage!

DIY Lolly Art

I saw this idea at the Stampin' Up's corporate offices and I really wanted to try this darling free hanging wall art...

I really like that it's simple, elegant, and the best part is that it all matches! I love the way that all of the Designer Series Paper form Stampin' Up coordinate. It makes my job much easier! For my Lollies I used Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper. It matches this room perfectly! Here is a close up of each individual lolly:

To learn how to make Lollies click Here. All you will need to do is take three 12"x5 1/2" strips of paper and score them at every 1/2 inch to make the rooster print Lolly. For the pink lolly score using the Simply Scored at every inch and you'll need four strips of paper for this one. Then follow the Tutorial for the rest of the steps. To make the blue lolly I used my Big Shot and the Designer Rosette Die. It pre-scores the Lolly and gives it a fun edge. Then I attached my lollies to the fishing line. And the rest is history. Magnets and Stamps!

My good friend Jill Leigh made these magnets for me. She surprised me on my birthday! (I saw her making them a week or two earlier and I really wanted them... I bet that she could tell!)

Big Shot Spot Light

I'm sure that most of you know how much I love my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I honestly end up using mine almost every day!

One thing that I really love about this is the Textured Impressions Folders. I love that you can jazz up a project quickly and easily. How many times have you thought to yourself that your project just needed a little something. That honestly happens to me quite frequently, and the Embossing Folders always do the trick! DIY Name Banner

I am really excited about this project! I have always wanted to make a cute name banner. I asked one of my sisters if she would want a name banner and my other little sister said that she needed one too! Here is what I came up with for Lisa:

Hand Sanitizer Thank You Gift Tutorial

Today's tutorial is this cute little hand sanitizer thank you gift.

The first step is to cut a 2" x 11" strip of Pool Party Card Stock. Then you take Your Simply Scored and score at 2", 3", 6 1/2", 7 1/2", 9 3/4" and 10 3/4".

Then you fold on the score lines and you will need to use Stampin' Up's 1" punch between 9 3/4" and 10 3/4" for the top of the hand sanitizer bottle.

Next use sticky strip to adhere the smallest flap to the backside of the box.

Then you will use sticky strip again and close the flap making a box.

The next step is to make your first lolly. To do that you will take a 1 1/2" x 12" strip of Every day Enchantment Designer Series Paper. Score at every fourth inch using the Simply Scored.

Next fold on the score lines every other way to make a fan like when you were little.

Next, you do the same thing with a 1" strip of paper. Then you adhere the edges, so that it looks like a tent.

Then gather paper and push down in the middle to make the lolly shape.

Then use you 1" punch and your 1/2" punch to get the middle of your lollies.

This what it will look like after you hot glue these centers to your lollies.

Then you glue down the two layers so that it looks like this:

Then you can jazz it up however you want. I added a cute stamp from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and some cute Chantilly Ribbon, so that the final product looks this:

This could be great for a little thank you, or a little birthday gift. Every time that I give this to someone they always love it!

Upcycled Heart Wreath Tutorial

I love how this wreath turned out! I wish that pictures could do it justice. Does any one else have that frustration with their crafty creations? Oh well, Here we go.

Here is where the finished wreath actually sits in my room. Kinda cute huh? It doesn't look too shabby next to my painting that a sweet Italian man painted for me.

I started by bending a hanger into a heart shape.

Next I used a package of Soft Suede card stock, and the Fancy Flower punch from of course Stampin' Up. I then punched a lot of these flowers out.

Then I sprayed the flowers with water using a spray bottle. The next step is to take your bone folder and twist the paper flowers around the tip.

Then you let them dry, and they look like this. (I added a blue one for kicks and giggles)

Then you'll want to start glueing the paper flowers together to make these cute little bundles. This is the back side of one. You will need a bunch of hot glue for this part!

Then you glue them down to the hanger. When there were a few spots that looked bare I added a single crunched up flower.

Here is a picture of the backside where I glued a piece of Chantilly Vintage Ribbon. This is my favorite Stampin' Up ribbon!

Here is what it looks like hanging on my wall. It could look super cute on your door, or in red! I love that with a punch you can make so many different projects. To buy the punch and the paper you are looking at just over $20 for a super cute and fun project. (That's assuming that you have a glue gun... most people have those right?)

Party Time!

I wanted to share a few pictures from my latest card party. So here you go!

Here are my two funny cousins Sara and Jenny. Hopefully the crazy faces meant that they were having a blast!

Here are Theresa, Kristianne, and Heather all making their own versions of a fun card. At my card classes everyone is free to change things up and be creative. Classes are super fun, and these ladies are all super crafty!

Tori and Vanessa look like I forced them to take a picture... I might have :)

I saved the best picture for last. I think that it's safe to say that Jenny REALLY loves her card that she made. It's probably because she really loves the Enchanted paper... It's pretty awesome.

Make It Simple, or Amp it Up a Bit...

Today I wanted to show a cute and simple card with a version that is amped up a bit. I like both styles, but it is fun to see simple and sassy in one place.

Here is the simple version. This angle isn't the greatest, but this card would take 2 minutes to make. I used More Mustard Card Stock, two square punches, and added some pearls. And the stamps come from a Sale-a-bration option that you can get free when you purchase $50 in merchandise.

This is the amped up version. I added a Mini Clothes Pin, and I used a Modern Label Punch to get that cute label on there. I also added some Very Vanilla Seam Binding, and some News Print designer series paper. I think that this adds a little more, but both styles are great. It all depends on how much time you have, and what your style preference is. That is why it is so fun to design your own cards!

Owl Love

My little sister Amy was playing around with my owl punch and she decided to make my dad a card. She decided that she wanted to make this card out of the University of Utah's colors. My dad loved this card!

To make these cute owls you will need the Owl Punch. The punch makes it so easy! All you have to do is punch it out and assemble it, and you have a darling owl that would be great for a card, scrapbook page, invitation, or anything else that you can think of!

Wisteria Thank You Card

I'm pretty excited for how this card turned out. A friend at work taught me how to make these flowers and that night I came home and had to make a few myself... those will be a tutorial for another time.

For this card I used Wisteria Wonder card stock and Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, a Hat Pin, and some Newspaper Print designer series paper. Once again a picture just doesn't do this justice.

This is one more view of this card. I know that any one who received this card would feel pretty appreciated. (I know that I would!)

More Wedding Goodness

Here is the whole wedding look! In all honesty I was worried about everything looking a little cheesey, but it really added a fun touch. There are so many things that you can do to add a little extra something to a wedding.

The picture below shows those billions of boxes that we made for my brother's wedding. I have to be honest I was a little crafted out after making those boxes!

Lolly Frame Tutorial

Hello everyone! I am really excited to share my first ever tutorial today. So, here we go!

Ok, so this is what it looks like finished. I know that it's pretty funny that there is a picture of myself, but I promise that this wasn't my first option. I tried to find a black and white picture of my family, but it disappeared! Oh well, for the sake of this tutorial you get to see me in some Roman ruins in France.

First I took a 1 1/2" by 12" strip of paper. I used First Edition Designer Series Paper which comes with 24 sheets, so you will have plenty of this cute paper left over for another project! Then I scored at every fourth inch using the Simply Scored.

Then you will fold on the score lines going everyother way, like you would make a fan when you were a little kid.

Next you will attach the two ends together to make this funny shape. I'm not even sure what to call that...

Then gather one end and press down to make this lolly shape.

Then I used two of my Stampin Up Punches to get the circles that I will need to hold my Lolly together. I used the 1" and the 1/2" inch punches. I like that with a punch your circle will trun out perfect every time!

Here is the back view where I used the 1" punch. Ooops it's a little crooked, but it won't show. Shhhhhh don't tell that it isn't straight!

Here is the front view. I used black cardstock and hot glue to make this stay. Other glues might work if you put a brad in the middle, but I have found that hot glue works best. The next step is to make a bunch more of these in different sizes. I would recommend having the 1 1/2" x12" being your largest Lolly, but you can do whatever you wish. If you have any questions please let me know! I love how my frame turned out!

Good luck crafting! I think that I might have to make another one with a lot more color.... the possabilities are endless!

This cute little tag is really fun and easy to make. All you need is the Tag Punch, and then you can create your own tags that will add a little something to any present...

Another fun product that we have is our simply adorned product line, and you can make your own statement with your jewelry! I love this idea, and it is super easy to create a great conversation starter.

This cute little charm can be placed on a charm bracelet, or a necklace, but you create the design, and you can change it out to match your ourfit! How awesome is that?

All you have to do is snap it open and insert what you have created using Stampin Up's wonderful corrdinating products, and voila, you have a stunning creative piece of jewelry!

I just made this card today and I love it! I know, I know I love a lot of things, but there is something about this new stamp set, Apothacary Art that is really fun... and it's Vintage!

I also used Island Indigo and Crumb Cake card stock, along with Very Vanilla Seam Binding. I sent this as a Thank You to the ladies who came to my second ever Stampin Up! party. Hopefull they like it as much as I do.

I added this piece of cardstock that i antiqued a bit, and I added a cute little Thank You stamp. I wish that pictures could do justice to how cards really look in person! I wish that I could see the faces of the ladies who will open this card and see that they will be able to use this card again. (That was the purpose of the little insert.) I like the idea of my cards making someone else's day.

Party Cards

I made these two cards using our enchanted designer series paper. I love it and I have used it for several of my blog posts! This paper was a huge hit at my party as well. I love it that I'm not alone in my crafting obsession...

The picture above is one version. It uses the saying from the Tea Shoppe stamp set. I went a little more vintage on this one. I antiqued it a bit.

This version was pretty popular. I think that twine makes anything look a little more rustic, but I think that it adds a fun touch.

Happy Birthday Lolly Card

This card was fun to make! After I made this I showed it to my family, and they weren't impressed. I showed the ladies at a party that I had and they said that it was cute. What do you think? I like it personally, but I think that I am probably biased.

I made this using the Simply Scored and a lot of hot glue! I also used cute Rhinestones. I have decided that I like this card despite what my family has to say! Yes, this card did take some work, but I think that someone will feel very loved when I give this to them. This card screams I care about you!

Cute Chapstick Holder

Cute little idea for Valentine's Day. I love that you can fit chapstick, treasures, or nuggets.

I made this using the Top Note Die, and some Vintage Ribbon.

Here is the Banner from my brother's wedding that I promised to post. I love how this turned out! We had it hanging just above their sign in book.

I don't think that a picture can do this banner justice. It is so cute, and everyone thinks that I'm super crafty! Little do they know that my Big Shot did most of the work!

Valentines Day Card

Happy Friday to everyone! I decided to get into the Valentines Day spirit today and share with you my layered Valentines Day card.

I think that this is a fun way to show someone that you care about them. I used the Take it to Heart stamp set for the cute heart center, for the Love portion I used the Broad Sheet Alphabet stamp set. I also used some cute vintage ribbon, that I love! Can you imagine giving someone a Valentine that you made yourself? What a change of pace!

Another Tea Cup Card

Queen For The Day Card

Vintage is something that I am crazy about right now! The stamp set that I used to make this card is Artistic Etchings. I love this set, and this is my first stamp set ever! I knew once I saw the eiffel tower that I would have to own this set... This is another one that I am sure you will see quite frequently. Sorry about that, but I definately have my favorites!

I also love the little Jewels and Pearls... I think that they add a lot to the card. Once again it is very simple, but I think that I like most things better that way.

Hand Sanitizer Thank You Gift

I love this idea! I have seen this on so many blogs, but I made my own variation, by adding the lollies. To make these I used Simply Scored, and a lot of hot glue!

This is going to be my Thank You to my mom and Julie for hosting a Stampin' Up! party for me. Once again I featured the darling Tea Shoppe stamp set. I told you that I love it!

This is another project that I definately plan on doing a tutorial for! These turned out so cute! I made a variation of this for my friends during Christmas time... I'll have to post that sometime as well. If you are wondering about this darling paper it will be available on January 24th with the start of Saleabration! Personally I can't wait for it to start.

Monogram Card

This card is darling and so simple! I used Stampin' Up's Postage Punch, and the rest is card stock. This card will take about 5 minutes to make... maybe a little longer if you are like me and straight lines are hard to cut sometimes! I think that there tends to be quite a few user errors with my projects.

The picture is off center, but I think that you get the idea. I like the idea of purple and green together. I got this idea from an announcement that I saw on my friends's desk at work today. Thanks Ann for the inspiration!

Pillow Box Thank You

I love this darling little Pillow Box Die! And of course I love the Tea Shoppe stamp set! I have planned to use this stamp set a lot! I just can't resist teacups... I'm not sure why, but they are so cute!

This is going to be one of our projects for class in February! I am so excited to watch all of my friends make these! This little pillow box is great for a little treat, or some jewelry. I love it!

Love Lollies

I love this project! I made one of these for my brother's wedding, and it turned out so cute, so I had to try making another one! I'll have to show the one that I made for my brother another time. To make this I used one of our new dies for the Big Shot. This has to be one of my favorite items from the Occasions Mini!

I know that this lighting isn't ideal, but hey, hopefully I'll get better soon! I love that you can stick this on your piano, or on your mantle, or just hang it for a Baby or a wedding shower.

100 Cards In What Felt Like 100 Hours

So last night some girls came over and we needed to make 100 birthday cards. I know that I can go a bit overboard with Stampin' Up! stuff, but I thought that I had reigned myself in... my friends disagreed.

I know that this may look like only a few cards, but really it was over 100...

This is Elizabeth and Sarah adding to the assembly line. I am pretty sure that Elizabeth ended up with the most boring job... putting the ribbon on.

Jess and Kristi-anne were also troopers! Sorry that I made a detailed card... well, I guess I'm not really that sorry :)

Aly Felt like she was going to die this was taking so long!

I know that this isn't the best photography job, but my dad promised to help me learn some basics this weekend, so hopefully you will see better pictures fom me soon... I hope that everyone who gets this card knows that we care about them. Card making and letter writing are becoming lost arts, so I am happy to be challenging this trend and giving people handmade cards!

This is my very first post ever! I am really excited to start sharing my creativity with you!

This is one of the projects that I did at my very first party hosted by my Aunt Maren. I saw a similar card on Angie Juda's blog, but I changed a few things... like the color! I love BLUE! This card features one of our In Colors Pool Party, and my favorite stamp in our catalog the triple treat flower. To prove that this is my favorite I am going to show you a picture of the billions of boxes that we made for my brother's wedding.

I told you that I wasn't kidding! I love this stamp and it's versatility. Once I get better at this blogging thing I will add a great tutorial on how to do this!
